This week I may or may not have discovered a new love – a wonderful Cherman DJ who performed on the main stage at Tomorrowland 2013.
Fear not – I most definitely still love Armin, Sander, Avicii, Richie Hawtin, Maya Jane Coles Hardwell and all my other boys (and girls) too!
Let’s see how long I can listen to him on repeat for until I tire myself out eh? Hopefully not like Calvin Harris where I overplayed him on repeat so much that once Wireless Festival came around I couldn’t be bothered to go see him anymore and sold my tickets…oops. #ohshitme
Why do I love him?
He iz Cherman. Ja! From Böhrlin.
He has an awesome Cherman accent (and quite a beautiful voice actually – which really surprised me?).
He is a (trance and nowadays apparently mostly) progressive house and tech house DJ and producer.
He came up with the most wonderful chorus there ever seems to have been: “eat, sleep, rave, repeat.” –> on repeat. Obvs. Duh!
He has beautiful hair.
His real name is Frank Knebel, but most importantly he goes by the name Thomas GOLD. Need I say more…? Didn’t think so. I mean, seriously. Fuck me sideways. Please. While you speak to me in Cherman in that beautiful voice. Ha!
He has played at Creamfields, Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Amnesia in Ibiza, Ministry of Sound and Tomorrowland.
He has worked with Axwell, Tiesto, Dirty South, Calvin Harris, Steve Angello and Sander van Doorn – WHY is he not at SW4 on the Saturday together with them?!
Thomas Gold has done a BBC Radio 1 Essentials Mix – you know I love my Essentials :D
