אף אחד כבר לא מזהיר אותך לפני שזה נגמר*
אף אחד לא מספר כמה זה יכאב
ואין תמרור בצד או אור שמהבהב
Hebrew lyrics from the song “Metayel Ostrali” – “Australian Traveller” by Ivri Lider.
*No one warns you before it’s over
Nobody tells you how much it will hurt
And there are no traffic lights or flashing signs
…it was the 14th of February 2004 and I met a boy. A stranger. A complete random. He was from Brisbane, Australia. I met him at the exit of a train station in Munich, Germany.
It was his birthday that day, he was in Germany alone and just wanted to go and have a drink somewhere for his birthday.
I told him to go to this bar where a friend of mine worked and to wait there for me, to sit at the bar and have a few drinks and I’d be back in a bit. I don’t know why he believed me but he did. Probably because he was one of the nicest people in the world? I joined him at the bar two hours later, he was there as agreed and I showed up as promised.
This boy is the reason I have a really messed up Australian accent sometimes.
8years on I think of him sometimes and I hope he is happy. I hope he is still that beautiful, pure person that I met eight years ago. I don’t want to write anything more about him, I somehow feel like I have so little of him that I am afraid I might taint it or even lose it if I share too much?
