I have a new favourite tv channel – Africa TV

And while I enjoy my tour of Madagascar now (I’m at home off sick today)…after watching da East African Music festival…after which I watched some news on men in a Kenyan village playing music to their cows (“da men love de cows more den die wives and play de music to de cows”)…my friend Jaymz sends me a joke on Sipho:

Hey Sipho! I have a cow for you for just R500!’
‘E yoh, Bongani! I’ll take it – you can bring it to me tomorrow!’
The next day:
‘Sorry Sipho, but the cow died last night.’
‘Hauw.. So, ok then. Just give me my money back.’
‘Sorry Sipho, I did already spend that money..’
‘Eish! So, ok then. Just bring me the dead cow.’ So, Bongani brought
the dead cow to Sipho the next morning.
A few weeks later, Bongani bumped into Sipho and asked him what he did
with the dead cow:
‘You won’t believe, Bongani! I made a raffle for the cow, and I sold
251 tickets for R5 each! I made a profit of R850! But, I didn’t tell
anyone the cow was dead..’
‘Yoh! And the people didn’t complain?’
‘Eish! Only the guy who won! So, I gave him back his R5 and he was happy!’

a relatively quiet one…

This weekend has been more of a quiet one after the romping around Barcelona last weekend. The BF’s father was here this weekend and we had lovely dinner and drinks everyone seemed to enjoy very much. Better having a quiet one (though Friday night did involve multiple beers, a Bossie beer and 4 bottles of white wine over 3 people!) anyway as the weeks are getting busier and busier with Christmas getting nearer and nearer…I wonder where my days go as each night falls and I don’t seem to have enough time for anything!

My Fashion Media course at the London College of Fashion is going really well too! It’s really enjoyable and a nice size group with a lovely teacher – next week is our last class where we will be doing photography and styling for print with an established fashion photographer. Also, the creative director of Yves Saint Laurent, Stefano Pilati is going to be speaking at the LCF next week and I’m dying to get a ticket but they seem to be sold out already (so that will me trying to make a few manic phone calls tomorrow). I’m also already looking at courses I could do in the Spring term – am thinking maybe a bit of Buying & Merchandising and a bit of Brand Management – let’s see…

Today the BF and myself went to the cinema to see “Burn After Reading” – very funny and very good! Fantastic all-star cast and awesome performances by Brad Pitt, Tilda Swindon, George Clooney and Frances McDormand. The movie is full of great quotes and one-liners – I’d definitely recommend it:

Chad: “I thought you might be worried… about the security… of your shit.”

Chad: “Put up a note? “Highly classified shit found: Raw intelligence shit, CIA shit?” Hello, anybody lose their secret CIA shit? I don’t think so!”

Osbourne: “You’re a Mormon. Compared to you we all have a drinking problem.”

CIA Superior: “Report back to me when it makes sense.”

So, all in all, its all very busy but very good!
